- Education and Awareness: We will integrate LGBT+ topics into our curriculum to educate our pupils about the diversity of gender and sexuality, promoting understanding and acceptance.
- Support and Resources: We will provide support and resources to our LGBT+ pupils and staff, ensuring they have access to the necessary guidance and assistance to thrive.
- Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination or bullying based on gender identity or sexual orientation. We are committed to taking swift and appropriate actions to address any incidents.
- Community Engagement: We will engage with parents, carers, and the wider community to promote inclusivity and understanding, encouraging an open dialogue about LGBT+ issues.
At New Barn School, we believe that diversity is our strength, and we are proud to support our LGBT+ community. Together, we will continue to build a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

Mermaids Homepage - Mermaids
Mermaids support trans, non-binary and gender-questioning children and young people. We are one of the UK’s leading trans-focused charities. We provide services directly to trans children and young people, to families, and work to educate and inform professionals and organisations who want to be part of a society where trans children and young people are safe, included and empowered to be their best selves. We also campaign for the things that matter most to trans children and young people.
The Proud Trust The Proud Trust - Home of LGBT+ Youth
The Proud Trust’s top priority is improving the lives of LGBTQ+ young people. Through our regional youth work and national support services, we empower LGBTQ+ young people and the adults in their lives to create positive change for the future. Our work is building a safer environment for LGBTQ+ young people to thrive and achieve their full potential in all the spaces they exist. We do this because we believe all LGBTQ+ young people deserve to live happy, fulfilling lives.
